Welcome!

Our goal is to advance the science of stress, health, and resilience to prevent disease and improve human health and wellbeing in individuals and communities worldwide. To accomplish this goal, we employ a team science approach to conducting multi-level studies that leverage ideas and methods from psychology, neuroscience, immunology, molecular biology, genetics, and genomics to identify biopsychosocial processes that can lead to personalized interventions for reducing risk for stress-related health problems. This work enables us to examine how life stress promotes a variety of conditions that cause substantial morbidity and mortality across the lifespan. In addition, we are deeply inspired to provide world-class education and training in the psychoneuroimmunology of stress and health; to help develop highly competent and compassionate leaders in psychiatry, population health, psychology, and medicine; and to engaging with our community and world to make sure our work has the greatest positive impact possible. By realizing these goals, we aim to reduce stress-related disparities in human health and opportunity, improve health equity, and enhance individual and collective resilience to help people live their best lives possible.
